I'm looking for a black synthetic collapsable stock for my SKS...there are just so many choices out there I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. A slot of the bayonet is not necessary as I have replaced with with a bipod.

Either the new ATI strikeforce adjustable and folder or get the Tapco adjustable only. The non adjustable folders from Tapso and ATI wiggle and piss me off when shouldered.

I agree. Tapco adjustable. I don't know anyones experience with scopes, but with the fixed mag it's a piss off, if you can do the removale mag and shell deflector it's the way to go IMHO. Also, I had such trouble with the short tactical scopes and them moving all of the time on me. I tried about 3 different scopes/ring/attachment options to no avail. again, IMHO I would do removable mag,(if you can machine it a bit to work, those chinese non D models are hard) and a scope with a ring option on the back and one on the gas tube area with a shell deflector. Also, the bayonet is cool, but a good bipod is a better option IMHO. Good luck, I've owned many and it's a very modable rifle and fun to play with different options.

ALso if you end up loving the heck out of it like I do then save up and get the sks-d model. I have 2 and love them to death. One is getting the european wood thumhole stock . I have a second one I am planning on making an AK clone or a short dragunov clone.

Hey Drewz, where did you end up getting your D models? I've had no luck.

I bought the ATI Fiberforce for my Siminov, not bad but it requires a minor fitting for the trigger assembly. I plan on a couple 5 or 10 rnd removable mags later on. I also have both the Ncstar and UTG trirail mounts that replace the rear cover, each one has to be custom fit to your rifle, took me about 15 minutes with a small bit on the dremel tool.
I'll post pics once its assembled, just waiting on the stock to get here. |

The D's are hard to find for a decent price but i have alot of patience. Also with my job I am on the net alot at night on my laptop hunting for things. I usually get my D models for 400 bucks with extras. I got one with 6 "30" round mags and 2 stock short ones as well as scope and B square mount. When you subtract the extras from the cost of the gun I paid about 200 for the gun. I can keep an eye open if you are seriously looking??
